Short-Form Content Strategy

TikTok + Reels in the AI / Claude Code niche · 8 creator teardowns + 5 thematic cells, recency-weighted to the last 3 months. Judged on a convertible audience for an introvert, not raw views.

The recommended system

Keep one face video a day. Add a second post that is a screen-recording "build with me" clip in Chris's own voice, 2 to 3 times a week (not an auto-listicle, not an AI avatar). Aim the feed 60% Claude Code depth / 40% broad accessible AI, always POV-anchored. Every post points to one free-template link; the email sequence does the selling.

Cadence
1 face video/day (5/week floor). Second faceless post 2-3x/week, evening slot. Never spike to 3-5/day on a cold account.
Altitude
Claude Code short-form is open whitespace. Owning it is the single highest-leverage move. Broad AI is the entry ramp only.
Automation
Semi, never full. Chris records one 60s clip + own voice; Claude + Python + ffmpeg + Whisper finish it at under $0.10/post. Full auto = slop the platforms suppress.
Conversion
Curiosity-gap to the free template, one bio link, say+show the URL, pinned comment, mid-video soft plant. Min Choi is the cautionary tale: views, no funnel.

The findings

Teardown

Agentic James

@agentic.james · Claude Code · ~18K TikTok · calm face + screen

The north star. Advanced Claude Code tips baseline; contrarian hot-takes are his outlier hits. Content is a live ad for his $97/mo community.

Steal: contrarian hot-take format; content = product demo; technical-specificity hooks. Avoid: skipping the email step.

Teardown

IndyDevDan

Agentic coding · 133K YouTube · faceless screen + voice

The introvert proof case. Screen-first, anti-hype, no camera ever, converts to $299-599 courses. Primarily long-form, not native short-form.

Steal: anti-hype label; GitHub repo as a trust flywheel; calm screen-first works. Avoid: no-email-list funnel; anti-beginner stance.

Teardown

Riley Brown

@rileybrown.ai · vibe coding · 635K TikTok · face + screen

Owns "vibe coding." Outcome-first hooks with zero windup; shows a working result in the first 15 seconds. Heavily outsourced, startup-funnel.

Steal: outcome-first hooks; screen-rec as default. Avoid: undisclosed-founder promotion; two-agency editing cost.

Teardown

AI Jason

@AIJasonZ · AI agents · 223K YouTube · screen + some face

Technical build-alongs to a $37/mo community. No active short-form presence (YouTube-native), so the value is funnel and content type, not format.

Steal: GitHub-repo discovery; build-live-then-sell-community. Avoid: the pivot tax; skipping short-form.

Teardown

Min Choi

@minchoi · broad AI news · 374K on X · faceless curation

Massive reach, zero funnel. 7.4M views on one post, no course, no email list, no product. The reference case for reach that does not convert.

Steal: weekly-roundup format. Avoid: hype language; reach with no CTA; curation with no POV.

Teardown

Faceless "AI tools" listicle

e.g. @aidailyinsights ~206K · fully faceless · automatable

The automation comparable. Farms views and affiliate clicks reliably; converts to a $39 course weakly (20-30% trust penalty). The slop the brand stands against.

Steal: niche-targeted hook structure; screen-rec visual. Avoid: running it as no-POV auto-second-post; treating it as a course funnel.

Teardown

Matt Wolfe

@mreflow · broad AI tools · 925K YouTube · calm face

The calm-sustainable + email-funnel model. Pastes an article into a Claude project to get a 59-second script. But his newsletter is built for sponsors, not course buyers.

Steal: Claude-to-script pipeline; content-first email; 59s cap. Avoid: news-digest tone (builds the wrong audience for a course).

Teardown

Rowan Cheung

@rowancheung · AI news · 2M newsletter · AI avatar

The follower-to-email conversion exemplar. Short-form delivers the headline; the free email delivers the depth. Curiosity gap, one bio link, post-signup quiz.

Steal: curiosity-gap to free email; segmentation quiz. Avoid: the AI avatar (off-brand); paid acquisition at scale.

Cell T1

Faceless formats that work

Confidence: Medium · sources Mar-Jun 2026

Screen-recording with personal voice is the highest-trust, most introvert-compatible faceless format. AI-voiced listicles and stock-b-roll get filtered as slop.

Verdict: YES to a second faceless post, specifically screen-rec "build with me," 2-3x/week, not listicles.

Cell T2

Content type + altitude

Confidence: Medium-High · sources Oct 2025-Jun 2026

Advanced content self-selects for buyers, it is not buried. Claude Code short-form is the clearest whitespace in the panel. Broad AI is saturated.

Verdict: 60% Claude Code depth / 40% broad accessible AI. Mix: 40% advanced tips, 25% hot-takes, 20% build-in-public, 15% broad.

Cell T3

Platform mechanics + cold start

Confidence: Medium-High · sources Aug 2025-May 2026

Completion rate (70% threshold) is the metric. Watermarked cross-posts lose 40-60% reach: export clean, native upload, stagger 60-90 min. Keywords beat hashtags.

Verdict: 1/day face cam (5/week floor) is right for a cold account. Second post only if a distinct content type.

Cell T4

Automation playbook

Confidence: High · sources Dec 2025-Jun 2026

Full no-touch automation is slop the platforms suppress (TikTok 73%, IG 15-80%, YouTube removed 16 channels). Semi-auto with one human clip survives.

Verdict: No to full automation, yes to semi. Claude + Python + ElevenLabs/Google TTS + ffmpeg + Whisper, under $0.10/post.

Cell T5

Hooks + conversion

Confidence: High · sources Dec 2025-Jun 2026

Contrarian-reframe and gap hooks win for a technical audience and need zero performance energy. Curiosity-gap to the free template converts without selling.

Verdict: 25-hook bank in Chris's two-line voice; one bio link, say+show URL, mid-video plant, comment question.
